My PC lags

August 5th, 2016

i just formated my pc (yesterday) and it kinda lags >.< its not like when i first buy it.. not even 50% like when i first buy it.. any ideas why? :C i revo uninstalled kaspersky and then downloaded Bit Defender.. but some leftovers are still left from kaspersky.. maybe thats the reason?
Edit: I can barely open google chrome and load a page with it.. I can’t even run windows system rating cause I get an error and my screen freezes very often.. I got internet and I can’t even load a page now.. It says wepage not available.. My is just slower then it was before the format for some reason.. I got win 7 professional.. Also it tales quite long for my pc to turn on.. And I got windows in my SSD.. I didn’t expect that and im really depressed.. Any good system diagnosis software to suggest?

Answer #1
Check your task manager to see if your CPU or RAM are overloaded and which process is the cause of the overload. Also try using the Kaspersky removal tool:
http://support.kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?el=1464
Answer #2
Who did you download it from? If you have some leftover when using Revo then probably you didnt use it correctly.
It might contain huge bloatware or its an “customize” version of window or even those that has hidden virus etc. Right now.. I really sound like an BAD window iso.
Answer #3
if your windows is not original , and u just downloaded it recently ,it might be a problem with it just as said . also never uninstall an antivirus software with an uninstaller , antivirus has protected files of its own , so there will be always leftovers , if these leftovers are just files it doesnt slow you down , if they are processes it may slow you down. i use kaspersky for a long time , i never got leftovers after i uninstall it by its original uninstallation. if u wanna dig in a little deep there is a simple program http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653
download this advanced form of task manager , u can inspect what is going on with your pc. it requires no installation

You d/l Windows from a trusted source I see, that’s fine. But you also have cpu spikes right? Try using one of these tools, maybe it’ll help (use the fw update first, then the performance restoration tool).
http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/support/downloads.html
Also check your device manager and if there are any devices without drivers try to install them. How was the PC before the installation of the AVs? Was it slow then?
Answer #7
yea it was slow then too… i think now its a bit better tho but still it needs quite some time to turn on
Answer #8
i remember how it was the pc in my previous format… it wasnt like this for sure :C

AM I just blind or what x.x
I dont see what or where he downloaded it from.My question and thinking its the problem still stand. It could be an bad download.
It is not normal after an format. Something is wrong with the DL window he download or during the installation which again could be the DL window error.

I saw his other post to another forum He got his Windows from here:

OP, Back to the problem and since your temps are fine, try this software solutions first:
1. Use this tool:
http://support2.microsoft.com/mats/slow_windows_performance
2. Open Control Panel and then under the System and Security heading, choose Find and Fix Problems. Then choose “Check for Performance issues.” Perform anything that is requested.
If the above won’t work, try memtest86+, even though your Memory seems ok:
http://www.memtest.org
If everything fails, create a health report and post it here, but it’s probably a problem with the SSD (most likely with the controller).

edit 3: i also have internet issues sometimes.. is this because google chrome is installed to my SSD i guess? and it got problem loading pages? (if its ssd problem)
Answer #12
Don’t use data migration mate, only the firmware update and performance restoration tool! Data migration is being used to clone your SSD to another one.
Have you checked device manager? Is everything ok there?
Answer #13
nothing strange to my unexperienced eyes in device manager… not any “!” and my SSD or anywhere.. i updated my SSD too.. let me try a restart..
Answer #14
what is your ssd ? if it is samsung 840 evo or pro , it has some problems with some configurations , so samsung released a firmware update for it , you can download it as jack said. and did u download the process explorer from the link i gave above , from there u can see if there is a high load on cpu gpu memory or harddrive
Answer #15
samsung ssd 830 series its my ssd
Answer #16
before you format , u were using the same ssd ? if the answer is yes , it is nothing about ssd. if u change any bios settings , set them to default settings again. and tbh , your problem can cuz of hundreds of things. it is will be easier for you to re-format your pc and see if the problem persists , otherwise u will spend hours maybe days to find the problem with this way. uninstalling antivirus software with seperate uninstaller software was a mistake but i dont think it can cause so much things. if you just bought your ssd , and first time using it , u need to apply firmware upgrade

Motherboard: ASRock 970 Pro3

SSD: samsung ssd 830 series
edit: sorry i thought i didnt post my ssd.. its late.. and im sleepy.. and my brain isnt working very well… yea i had the same SSD before the format.. but my pc was slow before the format too, in the start on i mean.. im pretty sure (well not 100% cause my experience is little) i have a feeling that is my SSD problem :S cause my windows needed quite some time to open before the format too.. and they need sometime now too.. maybe i should try windows ultimate? :S
edit 2: maybe i have to just live with it for the moment.. if things get worse ill make a thread i guess..
edit 3: btw if its my ssd problem… if i format again, i mean if my ssd have a problem and i format this might make things worse… right? :/
Answer #18
i understand u , these things kill person’s brain , thats why i told u to reformat instead of searching this like detective. if u r so sure it is about harddrive , there is nothing can be done , there are many software to check ssd status , i use
https://www.piriform.com/speccy
install and choose storage or harddrive from the left. then find your ssd at there , look for SMART , and what is written near it. if it says good there is no ssd problem then i suggest u to reformat and dont do what u did last time , even if your pc were slow before the format , i think you didnt have problems with opening google chrome thats something beyond being slow
edit : if you problem is slow startup , it is completely different thing , it is probably too many services , and processes start with windows , and windows ultimate is heaviest version of windows , which make things slower. to understand if problem is about your ssd , just do what i told above. look for SMART status

Temperature RangeOK (less than 50 °C)
i had problems with google chrome, i dont lie.. i had problems with google chrome after i opened it.. like few minutes later it was freezing.. and my screen too, like when you have 2 FPS in a game, imagine that.. that was my screen.. i dont know if it was because i had both kaspersky and bit defender in my pc (for some reason i didnt uninstal kaspersky properly and i installed BD later so it was like i had 2 antivirus) then someone told me to go to safe mode if i want to uninstall antiviruses and uninstall them with their own uninstaller.. well i uninstalled it with safe mode with revo (i could see kaspersky or BD in revo in normal mode even tho i had them both but i could in safe mode) so i uninstalled them for good.. thinks went better since my google chrome and my screen are not freezing.. but it feels like my PC took an arrow to the knee, the lag its just not as lethal as it was.. but its not normal for “after format” too.. anyway, thanks for your time all! i really appreciate it and i would hug you all if you was near me thanks a lot!
edit: i got windows proffesional.. sorry if i said ultimate by a mistake..
Answer #20
huhahahha , then there is no ssd problem , here is what you are gonna do , u will sleep when u wake up have a good breakfast , then re-format and install win 7 home premium 64 bit , it would be enough for you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions
below there is comprasion chart below , i dont think u will need anything that home premium doesnt have . i personally doesnt like that helping forums , they say , install that , install this , look for this bla bla , after a point your pc become worse than before the format even if u fix the thing. these forums are good when u have a critical problem and u need to save your files etc.. in your case i would just reformat
Answer #21
BIOS setting on ACHI ?
any chance you reformat ?
