Mozilla released 8th version of Firefox browser 2morrow.

December 8th, 2013

But, my question is, when or WHERE was/is version 6 OR 7 ? lol..
I wasn’t even notified on their site, i’m still on 5..

Answer #1
The stable version of firefox atm is 7 and not 8. Version 8 is in beta atm and will take 6 weeks to get stable. If you go at firefox to Help – About you see the version you are running plus it checks for an update.

firefox has lost its respect from me. they release a new version like every day which makes all my add ons not work
Answer #7
I think Mozilla have a problem on their hands with releasing so many versions in close succession. It doesn’t feel one with confidence with so many updates.
On the other hand, I suppose it show they are dedicated to fixing a problem and maintaining compatibility with new web technologies, but as Saied45 says compatibility for current add ons has been left behind with 3rd party developers.

This addon is a real life-saver. I’ve always been using bleeding-edge versions, currently Firefox 10 αlpha and this addon has always been of great help. And now that FF has been churning new versions every month now, even people who are not ßeta testers or bleeding edge users benefit from it.
But yeah, Mozilla did lose a lot of respect due to its new-version-every-month thing!

I am tired of their weekly or monthly releases. Firefox 3 is still perfect for me.

I’m still on version 5.0.1, I click Help -> About, and says You’re using the latest version of FF, so what is this ?

Just download new version form their website and install… Don’t complicate things…

Sometimes it only offers you a update of the same version when you go via Help > About.
