Movie Download & Burn Know-How

Hi all….
Merry Christmas…
I am seeking a little help please.
I know a lot about scripts, I know a lot about software, I know a lot about other stuff. But……
I have purchased my wife a new laptop for Christmas and she wants to learn about downloading and burning movies from the internet. The problem is that I know nothing about doing that.
Can anyone tell me where to get a tut or ebook to learn how to do this?
I mean things like…..

Where is the best place to get them?

What format is the best and what formats am I likley to find available?

Are any of those “pay to join” sites any good and if so, which ones are worth it.

What software will I need to convert downloads to a format that can then be burned to a DVD?

And so on

Any help will be greatly appreciated?

u posted in the wrong section first of all. secondly there is always google u can type any of ur questions and u would get answers deeper than i will go into here. but to answer u. the movies on here have links. u have to download all the links and then u extract the files using a program called winrar and sometimes hj split but 99% of the time its winrar unless the files end with .001. usually the uploader will specify. if u want to burn dvds then u gotta get double layer dvds or get a program which authors dvds so u can compress it to fit in a single layer dvd such as dvd fab platnium. the movies posted in here are usually dvdrips in avi format meaning u need a divx capable dvd player to play them unless u have one then these files will not play on ur tv. otherwise u can try downloading full dvds instead of rips. for that u need to go to a torrent site. such as torrentspy or isohunt or if u can get an invite to a private tracker like torrentleech.org it would be good, but other than that i hope u see this b4 the mods move it. happy holidays

I use convertxtoDVD and nero to burn movies .and dvdrips are the way to go the 264 files are great also…just do a search here for codex pacs. I use rs.com megaupload and megashares have accounts with all Three its cheap at half the price. good luck. That Should Get you started.

You don’t need an eBook. It’s pretty straightforward. Just takes practice. Download a movie from here (in the Moviez section). Downloading is the hard part because movies are huge and will take a long time to download one completely. Then use a software called ConvertXtoDVD (or an equivalent) to make DVD menus, chapters, subtitles, etc. Then you use a good CD/DVD Burner (I like GEAR Pro) and burn it to a blank DVD. Get some popcorn, pop it in your DVD player, sit back, watch and enjoy.

AVI (Audio Video Interleave): DivX or it’s open source equivalent, XviD have the best quality and most commonly used in major motion pictures rips. Other formats you will find are MPEG (Moving Pictures Expert Group) which is the most popular, WMV (Windows Media format), MOV (QuickTime Format), RM or RAM (RealVideo Format), and the formats used on webpages such as You Tube: SWF(Shockwave Flash Format) and FLV (Flash Video). Yeah they’re good (such as NetFlix) if you have money to burn. If you don’t, stick to sites like . You can get almost any movie that pops into your head, even old ones, for free. What software will I need to convert downloads to a format that can then be burned to a DVD?
