Modafinil

January 28th, 2020

Hello everyone,
I keep reading articles on students using these pills (or similar) to help them towards studying/ exams or any work which requires a lot of focus and/ or memorising.
I know that since a prescription is required for it the only way to get it would be illegally – online websites/ individual sellers. I wanted to know if anyone here uses it and if so, did you encounter any side effects? Where did you buy it from?
I will be starting my second year of A-Levels this year and I have decided to keep all four of them – Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry! So this will be very much needed!

Can’t be anymore clear … DON”T USE ANYTHING.
Frankly if you need supplements for 4 A-levels, you’ll need to be on pills for your entire university life.
Studies have shown that people who have put in good study time throughout the term, and then cram at the end, do more damage that good. Confusion via overload is the enemy.
If you are a crammer, well don’t be It won’t help in your further studies as University leaves study primarily to your complete discretion. Best form good habits now.

Heya!
Your advice is great and I agree with you but the problem isn’t with my abilities – I am a very good student, always have been. Half way during my first year of college there were some things that happened at both home and school, I was depressed for quite a while and probably still am. I think I only just managed to get an A or a low B after being out of school for quite a while.
I also work part time now so my time to revise at home is quite limited, not to mention I cannot concentrate within daytime as there is too much noise due to there being so many people around. This is only a short term fix until the problems at home are solved – I can only study at night and you must know how tiring it gets, I usually fall asleep before even getting to retain any information

An interesting read on the effects.
Maybe you can try giving yourself incentives like “no nookie unless I’ve put in 2 good hours of study”? LOL
A google will bring up a bunch of sites that sell. Given that you are in the UK, you’ll likely have to get them shipped via a foreign country. You can purchase online at:

but I can’t vouch for what you get, and they definitely have a disclaimer regarding shipments intercepted by customs.

Don’t even think about ordering a prescription med online!!
You’d have no way of knowing whether it’s real or fake (and it may even contain harmful substances which will damage your health!) so you really don’t wanna go there. You’ve mentioned that your main problem is the inability to concentrate due to noise, Have you thought of studying outdoors? You could just put your books/papers in a bag and go sit in a park/cafe or something, You’ll have less noise that way, Think about it! But if you truly feel that you’d benefit from such a med, Then there are other (off the counter, and mostly natural) alternatives which can be just as effective!
these in general are called nootropics (A term that refers to OTC supplements that improve attention/memory/creativity) some of the most well known ones are:
vinpocetine/alpha gpc/dmae/bacopa/pramiracetam/oxiracetam/aniracetam/centrophenoxine/mucuna pruriens/huperzine a/grape seed extract
Some people only take one kind, While others take a few together. I suggest you refer to these topics for more info:

Better do some Googling too. Nootropics are generally safer and more tolerable than their prescription counterparts, But do keep in mind that nootropics have side effects too (Which are pretty much the same as prescription ADD/ADHD meds) such as increased pulse/headaches/insomnia/mood swings/loss of sex drive/loss of appetite. They could also make you an emotionless workaholic (as in not caring much about anything than starting and completing a task, being emotionally unattached) so think twice about trying these! Sure you might benefit, But it might change your personality in ways you wouldn’t like! But on the upside, With so many nootropics available on the market, You might be able to find something that
would work without too many side effects! Other than that, There are a few important things you should be aware of:
1. You shouldn’t even attempt trying these if you have any heart disease or if you have high blood pressure!
2. If you’re taking any prescription meds, You should consult your doctor first (or do a lot of research!) as some things don’t mix very well.. 3. Nootropics don’t work the same way as prescription ADD/ADHD meds, You’d only start feeling the effects
after a few days or weeks (provided you’d be taking em on a daily basis, otherwise it’d be a complete waste of time!)
4. Nootropics (just like any other supplements) aren’t regulated by any health and safety agency, So all you got is the brand name really, Make sure that whatever you buy is of a reputable, well known brand!
Good luck!
