Mobile storage

February 2nd, 2020

Hello i have a mobile with 8 gb as internal storage.
recently i updated from android lollipop to marhmallow after it i noticed that the available internal storage isn’t enough.
I suppose the only way is to extend the internal storage with my sd card (format as internal)
but i have already enough apps installed in and i cannot move them back to internal storage (not enough space)
Could you please propose a solution in order to extend my internal without loosing the installed apps.
Thanks

there isn’t a solution. 8GB for internal storage just isn’t enough. Half or more than half is usually taken up by the OS itself. You could try flashing the factory image or doing a factory reset but that will erase all your settings. Though if you’re google account is synched, the play store will do the rest.
There’s only one proper way to “fix” that, and thats to get a new device with bigger internal storage. Even 16GB is relatively small nowadays as internal, if you want to be relatively safe you need at least 32GB.

One huge critizism of android is its huge mass of useless “Bloatware” apps that are installed by default and cannot be deleted. But infact they can be deleted altho the procedure seems to be far from easy. There are countless guides around that. Simply google “andoid bloatware” and read.

it’s no different with apple. Same bloatware

What bloatware is on Apple devices? Im interested as I have never experienced any but then again I’ve never looked.
OP Can’t you just buy a bigger SD and copy/clone what you already have? I don’t have any android devices so I aren’t sure.

[offtopic]Apple maps being 1. and other stuff too that you’re never going to use. Saying that though, I hear Apple are allowing the removal of default apps. not sure if you need a jailbreak though.[/offtopic]
OP: Downgrade to Android L or just use a MICROSD card as internal storage. Make sure you’ve done that once you’ve factory reset so apps save to that card.
You can also disable bloatware pretty easy. even easier with root. Google is your friend.
