I just got my external hard drive ready to rock, I was thinking of seperating each movie i have into an individual folder and then changing the folder icon to the dvd cover of each movie for easy to find pretty access. Any one know how much space each windows folder actually takes on the HD? or is it so minimal it doesnt matter, just dont wanna waste the space making it look pretty.
Answer #1
a icon takes up like 1kb lol so it wont make any difference even if you have thousands
Answer #2
even if i change the default folder to a picture of the dvd cover?
Answer #3
A Folder is tiny, an icon file is under 1kb. Don’t worry
Answer #4
okay, thanks guys
Answer #5
Sounds like a lot of work though. There are DVD catalogue programs that will organize them for you. Cant think of any off the top of my head though.
Answer #6
its really not bad, takes all of 30 seconds to create the folder then add the image.. no biggie, looks good too especially when i turn icons to large
Answer #7
That’s actually a pretty good idea Mate. But yeah, Icon files are about 1kb each, so no worries! I might actually do this myself.
Answer #8
Movie collector can do this for you. do a search its posted
Answer #9
Yeah, gonna be pretty cool when my buds come over and i pop on the HD and show them all the movies with the images plus with the new HD ill be able to hold a lot especially since the movies i DL are like 700mb – 1gig.
Answer #10
