Microsoft Excel 2010 – Product Activation Failed

Recently got this message when opening Excel and now whenever I open it there’s a red bar across the top saying that the product activation failed. What do I do here? Does it do anything else apart from having the red bar on the top? Will it affect any files saved?

This is the best IMHO – disable any antivirus/anti-malware apps before running it. You will also need to download and install MS .NET framework 4.0 if you haven’t already got it.
