There should be an error code that within the error. Can you post the what the whole error says or a screenshot of the error. A simple google search of the error code will most likely give you solutions on how to fix the problem. A common fix to some errors is to uninstall malwarebytes, restart, then reinstall.
If you are getting error code 732, try these solutions I found off malwarebytes’ forums:
Apparently some people are having an issue where the "Automatically detect settings" checkbox is not checked in Internet Explorer 8 in the LAN Settings, and thus receive an error code 732. Here are some quick steps to see if this is what is causing the error for you:
1. Click the 'Start' button.
2. Click on "Control Panel".
3. Double-click on "Internet Options" (you may have to switch the Control Panel to 'Classic' view to find it).
4. Click on the 'Connections' tab (step 1 in the screenshot below).
5. Click on the "LAN settings" button (step 2 in the screenshot below).
6. Put a check mark in the box labeled "Automatically detect settings."
7. Click OK.
8. Click OK.
9. Try the update again (you may need to close any open Internet Explorer Windows before trying)

Step 2: Exclude Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware's Files and Folders From Other Active Security Programs (Firewall / Antivirus):
For Windows XP:
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
* C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
For Windows Vista or Windows 7:
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
* C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
* C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys

For 64 bit versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7:
* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamgui.exe
* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe
* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\zlib.dll
* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.dll
* C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
* C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\rules.ref
* C:\Windows\System32\drivers\mbam.sys
* C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers\mbamswissarmy.sys
Note: The files in RED being most important!
Note: If using a software firewall besides the built in Windows Firewall you'll need to exclude them from it as well
Now try updating Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware once more and if it does not work then please proceed to Step 3
Step 3: Verify Your Internet Connection Settings:
* Open Internet Explorer
o Note: It MUST be Internet Explorer, not Firefox, Opera, Chrome or any other internet browser
* Click on Tools at the top and select Internet Options
o Note: If you do not see Tools, press the Alt key on your keyboard and it will show up
* Click on the Connections tab
* Click on the LAN settings button
* Under Automatic configuration make sure that the box next to Automatically detect settings is checked, if it is not, then click the box next to it to check it
* Under Proxy server make sure that the box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections). is not checked and if it is, click the box next to it to uncheck it
* Click on the OK button to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window
* Click on the OK button to close the Internet Options window
* Try updating Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware again to see if it now works correctly

I used to have this problem as well. Here is a trick to get updates to work again. However, this was not a permanent fix for me but, it allowed updates to work until I restarted my computer and I would receive the error again. Try this:
1. Click Start ---> All Programs ---> Command Prompt
2. Type in: netsh winsock reset ---> Hit enter
3. You will be prompted to restart your computer. Please do so.
4. Once restarted, try to update Malwarebytes. It should update.

Thanks for posting the error. You are getting error code “732(0,0).” Try “Step 3: Verify Your Internet Connection Settings.” After a quick google search, I found that to be the common solution.
Step 3: Verify Your Internet Connection Settings:
* Open Internet Explorer
o Note: It MUST be Internet Explorer, not Firefox, Opera, Chrome or any other internet browser
* Click on Tools at the top and select Internet Options
o Note: If you do not see Tools, press the Alt key on your keyboard and it will show up
* Click on the Connections tab

* Under Automatic configuration make sure that the box next to Automatically detect settings is checked, if it is not, then click the box next to it to check it
* Under Proxy server make sure that the box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections). is not checked and if it is, click the box next to it to uncheck it
* Click on the OK button to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window
* Click on the OK button to close the Internet Options window
* Try updating Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware again to see if it now works correctly

I believe this is the exact error I had too (before I had to reformat my pc.) If Step 3 does not work, try the “netsh winsock reset” command on the bottom of my post. I have also read that deleting the files in your Temp folder (C:\Windows\Temp) can be used as a temporary fix.
Hope this helps
Answer #4
Hey man.. i fixed the problem BUT not via what you said.. .
The problem was the malwarebytes that i had wasn’t compatible with Windows 7 x64Bit.. .
I uninstalled the older version then deleted the mb folder in program files and even deleted the hkey.. and then software via regedit via start.. and i reboot.
Then i downloaded mb 1.46 and that one is compatible with w7 x64.
But still man thank you very much!!!!
Answer #5
Yeah I read somewhere that anything older than 1.46 wasn’t compatible with 64-bit systems. I assumed you already had the latest version
Anyway, glad to hear you got it working.
