Making money online

January 26th, 2020

I moved to north Africa back in February and my funds have been hemorrhaging since then. I’ve got enough to last me until September. I went from earning about $8000 a month back in Canada to nothing here in Africa. I’ve got my iPhone, Retina Macbook Pro, iPad Air 2, and a Yeti Blue mic. That’s it for technology. It’s a developing country – internet works but it’s like the mid 2000s in North America. 3G with no hope of LTE here until 2020 ish or beyond.
Tried looking for work as an English teacher – even though I’m university educated and TEFL certified it didn’t pan out. I didn’t have enough experience in classroom teaching.
I’ve been trying to put together some kick a** screenflow screencasts for Udemy and WizIq. Do you guys know of other sites that I can publish courses too? My goal is about $500-1000 USD a month to survive. Moved here for religious reasons to be close to the masjid in Dar ul-Islam. Any tips for earning money online would be greatly appreciated. Worse case my Swedish relatives will let me stay with them (in Sweden) but I really don’t want to leave here if I can help it.
Tips on earning money online. Tips on creating online courses – best way to advertise them? I’m open to anything that works except couponing lol.

Answer #1
The best shot would be the stock market if you have enough funds to start.
Course of English are too much available it will be very difficult to make money when there is this much choice. If you want to make money with Internet courses you should opt for something different than English.
Answer #2
I have a few courses I’ll be offering other than English. That’s a good tip – I think that market is saturated to the nines.

I’ve got some web comic ideas. What’s the fastest way to promote a web comic? Tumblr? WordPress comic theme?

Why don’t you try doing something like this you do here, giving fitness advice professionally (locally I mean or maybe start a blog)? Health is always a branch with big demand. If you are decent at math, a constant source of profit online has always been poker for me, it’s a flexible business and you don’t need much capital to start, if you get lucky you may win much faster but like all businesses of this kind it’s greatly swingy and unstable (it’s steadier than stock market though imo). Promoting a comic, social media nowadays should always be the answer, maybe you should try those first. (Please check your fitness thread too, I’ve posted sth there, if you could answer it I would appreciate it).

Thanks for the advice mate – I’ll be answering questions
I am creating a course for trainers to learn how to make money in the business. Online screencast course. There’s no fitness industry here – lol. It’s a developing country where donkeys wander the streets. Health is a demand but sadly I’m not a doctor – although I did take all my premed sciences. I am decent at math but can’t really do the gambling thing – it’s against my beliefs. My brother was pretty good at online poker and I studied it in the past. Seems quite successful for many people. Grinders do well for earning enough to get by. There are lots of apps to help with gambling but it’s not for me.
I’ll work on packaging my personal training course – for trainers, learning how to be successful and land the celebrity client. I got to train with Drake and other celebrities in Toronto. I don’t have enough to play the stock market anymore – I did back in February. Blogging is an answer for health – but it’s such a saturated market. Anyone have experience selling eBooks? iTunes vs Amazon?
