Making a full iso recognize a ripped version

August 3rd, 2016

Good morning/afternoon/evening (circle the correct answer)
I have a ripped version of Act of War : Direct Action (great RTS for those who never heard of it) by the team HDO (I think), which is more like a compressed version as nothing is ripped : it’s just an “extract the files and voila”.
However, I have an iso version of Act of War : High Treason which is the expansion set and when I launch the setup, it doesn’t see my AoW:DA version currently installed.
Thus, I’m wondering if there’s any way to make the setup recognize the ripped version so that I can finally play it (maybe it’s just a matter of creating a missing reg file or something, but I lack the appropriate knowledge and skill)
Thank you in advance

Answer #1
Well if its just extract and play it hasn’t been installed. No registry entries and nothing for the computer to track back. Meaning it’s not actually ‘properly’ installed. I don’t think there is as it hasn’t been installed its just run from a bat file and extracted and played.
Answer #2
A registry key is missing. Only someone who got this game installed can help you on this one.
Answer #3
> I actually run the game from an .exe file and during the “installation” (so to say), a message was prompted twice asking me if I’d allow the setup to add registry keys (which I obviously did)
TheDA > Well, yeah, that’s the point : if someone could be kind enough to sort it out, I’d be extremely grateful to him
