Mac Pro, OS Version 10.4.11

Right, i want to update my mac OS, and my friend has brought over her installation disks for OS Version 10.5.6, i want to totally wipe my mac and just install these, the only problem i think i may have is that they are from a mac book package, will this effect anything?
