logmein program

so i was thinking about getting logmein program. but i want to know what exactly every thing it does. from waht i here you can install it on multiple computers and go to a website log in or something and you can see and control the computer you logged into. is that right? and what other features does it have?

i really want to know since the day i’ve read that one boardie was able to found his stolen laptop thanks to this programm.
i think that you can view/monitor the computer the client is installed on, if any one can give extra info it would be great.

Its really cool man, ive used it, but not good for too much with the free version unless you need to email yourself files. Pro version allows you tpo print from another location. Think of it kinda like this. you are in california and your home comp is in alabama. You have logmein installed at the one in al and in cali you can go to the logmein website, login, and controll your computer. You can get sound and everything with the free version. Its cool and is worth trying the free version. You can run the programs that are on your home computer and see them on the computer that is away from home where you are actually at. You could kinda think of it like a streaming video straight from the computer at your house to the one you are actually sitting at.
To sum it up it is a remote program, the remotely controls one pc from another location. If you have ever used vmware and loaded a virtual OS, that is almost exactly how it looks, but you can also make it full screen and at looks just like if you were sitting at home in front of your computer. You have to install a small file, i think it was some kind of java or something like that (just a small file that allows the other computer to run log me in), then you go to the website and it will pull up the computer you are trying to remotely controll. It’s pretty slow compared to UNVC but it not bad as you don’t need to install anything for the viewer. Also you can do multiple PC’s but only with the paid version I think.

i use LogMeIn Free from work to access my home pc. i don’t want to install anything just start some RS downloads, extract rars on breaks and lunch. basic stuff.
