August 2nd, 2016
Yes …. if U have a tv Card in your mobo.
PS : There are Cables to everything now days..
Vga to hdmi cable? Seeing some on amazon, but the reviews looking not good…
Maybe it’s a DisplayPort or one of the others listed here..

If you Google the specs for your make and model of laptop, it should tell you.
If it’s a display port, it can be adapted to HDMI.
http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/products/Technology/Cables/HDMI-Cables/CODPHDMIAD
The laptop is a dell latitude 6400..going and see what the other port is…going and do some googleing..i guess the port that looking like the hdmi port is a IEEE – 1394 port..or it could be the display port u talking about, i tried inserting a hdmi cable into it, but the port was a little bigger than the hdmi ports…
VGA port,
or use the VGA ports and a cable like this
http://www.amazon.com/Standard-15-Pin-VGA-Male-Cable/dp/B0002AHT0M
If it's a display port, it can be adapted to HDMI.
not all, it has to be a “Dual-mode DisplayPort ”
Dual-mode DisplayPort (also known as DisplayPort++[26]) can directly emit single-link HDMI and DVI signals using a simple passive adapter that adjusts for the lower voltages required by DisplayPort.

As has said, Google the specs for your lappie. You may need an analogue to digital adapter/converter depending on the GPU.
Your gonna have to get a VGA>HDMI converter box:
http://dx.com/p/vga-to-hdmi-video-converter-71815
Do keep in mind the following however:
1. The power cord is made for US/CA (2-PIN flats) so you may have to purchase
an additional plug adapter if your from another country. These are fairly cheap however.
2. VGA & HDMI cables are not included.
3. Your gonna need to purchase a 3.5mm>3.5mm cable if you want to output the audio to the TV as well:
http://dx.com/p/3-5mm-audio-jack-connection-cable-1-5m-5115?rt=1&p=2&m=2&r=3&k=1&t=1&s=146441&u=5115
The box has a 3.5 input.
there is another port similar to a hdmi, but it's not a hdmi, don't know the name of that port.
It’s probably ESATA or Firewire.
Yes ,the box Roberto suggests, looks good. They have had some good reviews.
These are the specs well the ports on the machine- Ports:
IEEE – 1394, docking connector, USB 2.0 (x4), VGA, Display Port, RJ-11 (optional), RJ-45, eSATA, USB PowerShare, headphone/speaker out, mic. I saw this cable on amazon with some good reviews, not sure if it will work though. This is it https://safelinking.net/p/446cf5fac7
There is really no need to use safelinking for plain links! Uploaders use safelinking only to make the links last longer.
Back on topic, According to Wikipedia, Only a Dual-Mode DP (also known as Displayport++) can output to HDMI:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Compatibility_with_HDMI.2C_DVI_and_VGA
If you don’t have a Dual-Mode one, Then it’s just not gonna work!
Provide the laptop’s model and I’ll look into it.
The model of the laptop is a dell latitude E6400. Sorry about the safelinking, i was trying to figure out how to code the links. http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Plated-Premium-DisplayPort/dp/B004C9P9TM/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=3BE50SAT4IWGZ&coliid=IMOA31AJCMIUA
This is the cable i saw on amazon….now figure out how to code proper
It’d work, But not with that cable. Your gonna need a DP>HDMI Adapter+HDMI cable:
http://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Premium-DisplayPort-Adapter/dp/B005H3I38Q
http://www.amazon.com/BlueRigger-High-Speed-Cable-Ethernet/dp/B00316263Y
I’m basing this on the following topic:
http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19304004.aspx?PageIndex=1
There was one guy who got a DP>HDMI cable to work, But there was also another who couldn’t, But quite a few ppl said they got it to work with the adapter+cable method.
Thanks to all for the tech support…i’ll give the DP>HDMI Adapter+HDMI cable a go….
I assume VGA to HDMI converter would be costlier than other converter. I have doubts about you getting the same results which a normal HDMI direct connection would provide. Just research about the quality before making your decision.
