Kaspersky Trial Reset

July 25th, 2016

Is anybody able to tell me the files, directories and possibly even registry keys that are modified when kaspersky trial reset patches are run?
Thanks in advance.

thats a lot of work, just uninstall that Kaspersky and get one with new trial
Answer #2
Not really the answer I was looking for but thanks anyway.
Anyone else?
Answer #3
You need to have a file monitor and a registry monitor for that. Or reverse engineer the patch to see what it does actually.
Answer #4
all patch have a virus… i think you must dowload these files with antivirus pc…
Answer #5
that’s all can patch do…
to manual reset trial kav & kis 2009, u must perform full uninstall kaspersky product, bf reboot computer after uninstall kaspersky product,
run -> regedit.exe find this key -> HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\SPC\Certificate
and delete all subkeys in this key, after that reload your os and install kaspersky product, you can activate trial version again… second method, without uninstall not tested but may work
in kas options disable Self-Defense, delete actual licence, and fully close kaspersky product, run regedit and repeat procedure above

Is it really worth messing around? Just get some product keys and activate it. Couldn’t be simpler or safer. Why risk adding an infection? It’s like leaving your keys in your front door when you go out and expecting your possessions to still be there when you get home.
Just plain stupid IMO using cracks/patches on security software.
You could patch the file in a Sandbox/virtual machine and then copy the patched file out and then do a binary compare to see what differences there are. If it’s only a few bytes then it should be safe, but if it adds a lot to the file then it probably isn’t.
The patch program itself could be infected so I would NEVER run any on my PC. If patches/cracks/keygens won’t run in a Sandbox then it doesn’t run on my PC.
