Kaspersky Internet Security vs. ESET Smart Security

January 26th, 2020

I noticed my system was acting kind of funny while running ESS so I decided to download KAV trial and run a scan to see if ESS was missing anything. Sure enough KAV picked up two trojans that ESS missed. But according to tests done by av-comparatives, vb100, and tests done by each individual company they are about the same. So my question becomes what is better between the two? I am trying to figure out which one to run. Compare the firewalls, the AV scanning, the heuristics, personal experiences and what ever else is applicable.
Keep in mind I do alot of downloading and torrenting as well as browse the web and play games online.

Answer #1
Pick kaspersky mate, It wont let you down
Answer #2
i actually tested nod32 by downloading as many infected material as i could get and it recognized every single virus, trojan or worm, so the only thing i can tell is that i’m very satisfied with nod…don’t know about kaspersky, i had some bad experiences with it a while ago…
Answer #3
What were your bad experiences with Kaspersky?
Answer #4
I’ve been using Kaspersky for a long time, and never had any problems (and yes, I do visit , and every crap on the internet). Try mate, you won’t be dissapointed, it is simply THE BEST!

+1 I dont think that anythink is better than kaspersky
EDIT: I had to vote kaspersky obviously
Answer #6
I added a poll so its easier to track the votes.
Answer #7
A smart user will very rarely pickup viruses, so for me NOD32 is more useful as I need something that is lightweight. I may have a ton of RAM and a fast processor, but I want to use that for my own purposes (I am not saying Kaspersky is bloated like Norton and co.) Since I rarely (around once a year) have any troubles with this sort of stuff, NOD32 does the job for me.
For around 2 months I ran with no anti virus, just a router protected me from the ‘net and had no problems. I just have to use this sort of thing in my halls, otherwise they block you from the network I just feel these ‘security suites’ are overrated for the smart/power user.
Answer #8
ESS ftw!! The only prob it has is that it veeeery difficult to be cracked
Answer #9
To bad the poll isnt helping. The votes are 5 for KIS and 4 for ESS.

If you dont like it you can get rid of it Good luck!

Try nod321.com for daily username and password for NOD.
I recently uninstalled ESS and installed KIS. My internet browsing seems faster, my torrents are faster, and my startup is faster.
Answer #12
KIS works great for me
Answer #13
The only reason I got rid of it was because I kept getting my KIS keys from torrenting sites and could never find a key that wasnt blacklisted. But with this site and the constant updates to AV keys such as ESS and KIS I dont think keeping a valid key will be to hard.
Answer #14
I have voted for Nod since I have been using it for a long time (Nod32) and am very satisfied with it. It provides good security, doesn’t require too much resources and it’s easy to use.
Can’t tell too much about Kaspersky, but Nod works great for me and would recommend it.
Answer #15
i like nod32 cuz it ownz
Answer #16
the only thing I can say, dude, is that nod32 hasn’t let me down yet, while when I was running Kaspersky, I had to format every other week.
You choose.

Kaspersky. I used Nod32 2.7 for about 5 months did great, And then used Security…not so well. So I decided to try kaspersky…One of the greatest security suites of all time. Blocks everything. Only thing wrong is getting keys O.o
