Is it safe to plug a PS3 into a surge protector?

October 5th, 2013

The reason why I am asking that question is because I read on the Internet that the reason why the Xbox 360 got the RROD (Red Ring of Death) was because it got plugged into a surge protector. It wouldn’t get enough power when it was plugged into a surge protector. Is this true and if so is this the same for the PS3? Every electrical component in my room is plugged into a surge protector.
Here is a link regarding the question that I asked:

I’ve coded the link(s) for you this time – if you don’t know how to do it, please check the sticky thread in the helpdesk section.

Answer #1
If that was true then how come people who did not use one also got RROD
Answer #2
^^^^^^^^
Bros 360 has had RROD 2 times (fixed by microshite) n he dont use a surge protector n never has (too tight lol)
Due to electric fluctuations (not racists to asians lol) its better to be surge protected because of the delicate circuit boards
Answer #3
Both of my Xbox 360 and PS3 are plugged into a surge protector for around 7 month now and nothing has happened.
Answer #4
While it is true that some electronic components can be damaged from a reduction in power;
it would be due to the electrical supply circuit failing to provide the adequate amount of current.
(overloaded) The surge protector or power strip itself would not impede that factor.
