Is a VPN private network both 100% secure and practical?

Hi all, Because I love to download games so I can see wich ones are woth buying and wich are not, I’m starting to worry getting traced. I know what a VPN is and what it does but this is a first timer for me so i got a few questions about using a VPN service. Im planning to spend 5$ a month using the VPN service offered by proxy.sh.
1. Is using a VPN really 100% secure?
2. Will it affect my latency in games?
3. Will it affect my down and up speeds?
4. Any tips how to configure it properly and thorough?
I will be using a server located about 150km (90 miles) from where i live.
The service i plan to buy offers:
-PPTP VPN tunnel
-L2TP with IPsec VPN tunnel
-OpenVPN VPN tunnel
-CGIProxy web proxy
-1gbps unmetered bandwidth
All kind of help or recommandations are welcome

The site you mention is expensive. Just because they have a big banner ad plastered here doesn’t mean they are any good.

As long as your downloading from file hosts or usenet you got nothing to worry about!

It will probably add a bit of latency to your games (depending on the setup) so you might want to consider disabling it for online gaming

Yes it will. VPN Providers generally mention the speeds you can expect when you subscribe to a specific package of theirs

More often than not, it’s simply a matter of installing a piece of software, maybe entering your credentials and hitting ‘Connect’. You should however receive all the necessary instructions from your provider itself
