IPod transfer everything to PC

So I reformatted my PC and now installed itunes but it seems that the contents of my ipod won’t transfer to my pc. it is telling me to wipe the whole thing and sync it to the reformatted pc… I mean there’s nothing there! I thought it wouldn’t be a problem if I entered my account and all my purchases are there… I don;t want to wipe it cause it would be a major problem to restore everything again… I want to transfer the whole thing to the PC and sync, without wiping
Is states that: “the iPod “x” is synced with another itunes library. do you want to erase this ipod and sync with this itunes library?”
Which I DON’T want to do,

Is that possible?

1. To transfer music from iPod (Touch) to PC use CopyTrans
2. To transfer videos and pictures just plug in iPod (Touch) and you will see it like flash in My Computer
3. There is no way to SYNC apps back from iPod (Touch) to PC, you need to download them again to PC…

You can just access your iPod from windows explorer. Make sure hidden folders are shown, and you will see a folder called iPod_Control, and in there a folder called Music. Just drag the Music folder to your desktop.
TagScanner will give your music proper name and directory structure.

It’s MUCH EASIER with CopyTrans… No need for TagScanner or SSH…

s***. so all the data in my apps will be lost? dang that IS a problem took me days to transfer some of the stuff I put in the apps through ftp….
so, for future reference, if I have to format the pc again. is there some way to avoid losing all of that? kinda like backing up the current itunes library or something?
