Ipod touch 4th gen problem

November 20th, 2013

so i built a new computer recently and i wanted to get my songs from my ipod to my new computer. I downloaded copytrans and tried running it but it wouldn’t detect my ipod, so i tried another one, had the same problem. itunes detected just fine but none of the ripping software can, and diskaid, touchcopy, and 3herosoft crashed when i plugged in my ipod, the rest simply didn’t detect it. not sure how else to get the songs since its not jailbroken so the files won’t show up whether or not i have show hidden folders enabled or not, any help would be appreciated
thanks in advance ^^

Answer #1
install itunes, to get the drivers then try copy trans again
Answer #2
i already had itunes installed itunes detects it just fine, it’s the song ripping programs that don’t.
edit: uninstalled EVERY ipod manager/ripper and anything even related to apple then reinstalled only itunes then only copytrans, so it detects the ipod now, but only shows half my songs (about 275 of 556 songs shown) not sure how to fix this now…

Give ‘Sharepod’ a try, it will copy all your songs to your computer then you can just add them back into your itunes library

Emicsoft iPod Manager will copy all your music and video from 4th Gen. It will show all playlists, allow you to select them one at a time only, and copy their contents to a folder on your HDD.
Of you want to add a playlist to iPod it will do that too. I have this AND iTunes 10.4 running on Win 7 x86 with no conflicts.
(The single caveat of this program is that it will make multiple copies of mp3s if you have the same song in multiple playlists.)
