iPhone Unlocking
August 5th, 2016
I need to unlock an iphone from factory. It is turned off by Apple.
Do I
a) Need to Jailbreak it? If so how?
b) Change the IMEI to unlock the phone, as it’s identity has changed. If so how?
Also, if I change the IMEI, will this allow the phone to be used on any network?
I’d prefer to do this myself than take it to local shops, as they are changing an awful lot recently.
Thank you!
What do you mean “it is turned off by Apple”?
Apple does not ship locked phones, unless you bought it from a cell provider (like with a contract) it should be unlocked already.
It’s been turned off. It’s my sisters old contract phone, she lost it, got a new one, found this one the same day her new one came.
It’s turned off, incase someone had found it. It’s the anti-theft mechanism. She said if I can get it working, I can have it.
Sign it up on the same network explaining the story and getting your sister to verify it. Right now is could appear that you have a stolen phone … and well ….
So basically what you mean by ‘turned off’ is that its blocked? Is it showing ‘No Service’ at the top left?
If so, then the phone might only work abroad….so i suggest you sell it.
Ye that’s what it was saying. Rang T Mobile today and was charged 20.54.. for “admin costs”. A release code will be mailed within 20 days
Thank you everyone though, I guess they got some money out of me in the end!
unlocking an iphone always need to use money, thats why an Factory Unlocked Iphone always be more expensive than the Locked one
unless u are using Gevey Sim or R-Sim
Talk to Almighty.sho I am pretty sure he knew a lot about unlocking Iphones. But you can pay online to have it done.
