Installed Game version

Hey how can I know what version is a game that I have installed? I mean for example I installed a BlackBox repack of Driver SF and I dont know the version number nor do I know if it is retail or steam. Honestly, I dont even know what is Steam.
Im asking because I want to download a trainer for this game but I dont know my version and there are different trainers for all types of versions.

have you updated the game since you installed the game?
download all of them and try them all if the game crashes or do nothing then it’s not the right trainer but if it does something then it the right trainer

Yeah i downloaded the Skidrow patch 1.03 for it and installed it. But what you suggested is the hard way by trial and error. Is there no easy way for this?

then download the 1.03 version trainer
