Install OS From External Harddrive

Well their is a OS of vista which is: vista ultimate special edition
It has lots of appz installed, patched, unlocked themes, and sp1.
I would like to download this file but I don’t have a dual layer dvd. I want to know if I can install it from my external harddrive. The file is about 6gb. If you can it would be great if someone can post how.

If your computer doesn’t have a dual layer dvd, than your pc is probably too old to run vista anyway dude

No mines came with vista. And its a new pc only came out like 4 months ago. I just want to do a upgrade to that vista and I don’t have dual layer dvd’s only the 4.7 gb dvd’s. So I was saying if I can install it from a external.

You can not install a OS from a external hardrive!

Since when can’t you? It’s just as good as a dvd or memory card right?
Go into your system settings (F2 on startup) and change the first start up to like USB or something maybe.

Well jee, if I’m wrong then please point out where. It’s only a theory yes, but I don’t see a reason for it not to work. In your opinion would it work from a memory key?

As Headucation said…you can’t install the latest OS from External Harddrive or internal for that matter..Only possible with windows 98 and older OS…

No I can burn it in my house. but I don’t have the cd I am suppose to burn it on. that’s what I am trying to say!

Christ you want vista AND modded at that….that thing is going to crash on you within the first week…
