Image external hard drive (windows 7 start up)

February 2nd, 2020

Hello,
I just removed the hard disk of one of my laptops with windows 7, someone formatted it completely and when you start the laptop it boots up windows 7 and lets you choose 4 different language before you finish the installation.
I really like this feature so before formatting this drive with windows 10, I would like to make a back-up of this system.
How could I achieve this?
System drive and OS… so when I put the image back it should give me the same boot window (selecting a language before completing the isntallation of windows 7).
I tried this, but this is only making a back up of your own disk;

this question has many dimensions …
but , suggest instead of backing up an image of your HD to another HD, i suggest you clone your HD to another HD … if you can fit it , then an other internal HD on your laptop is even better than an external HD…
this will copy clone every bit and byte to a backup HD ,rather than a backup image on a HD ..
you will then be able to restore the clone HD back to your main HD using the clone software …
you will also be able to copy back any individual files or data from the clone HD to your main HD , using Windows Explorer
hope this helps..

If I understood properly, you want to backup your recovery partition (I assume that this is what you saw), clonezilla may be able to do so, it hasn’t been tested on lots of laptops though. Also a program of AOMEI might do the trick.
