if i convert bluray mkv files to burn as a dvd

August 27th, 2022

I was wondering this. If I follow this guide: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-convert-mkv-files-to-burn-as-a-dvd/#more-28977
And burn my blu-ray mkv files to a DVD, would I still keep my blu-ray quality? And I’m assuming I can use something like DVD shrink to fit several movies on one disc. Because the mkv files I have are big, like anywhere between 3GB to 16GB a piece.
Thanks.

As far as I know, the answer is no. You can not burn HD material to a dvd & keep the HD resolution, the program you are referring to only converts the mkv file to dvd format & burns to disc. ConvertX to DVD will do the same thing. Hope this helps.

no. the dvd format and all dvd players are incapable of playing HD material. when you convert it, the program will down-scale the image to SD (PAL/NTSC) quality
Answer #3
well that sucks. thx
i assume the only way is to burn to blu-ray.

Yeah that’s true…it’s so much easier plugging even your PC into your TV…especially laptop, just put the video on there and you’re ready to watch it..
Answer #6
