iBook G4 airport kernel panic

January 22nd, 2020

I started getting repeated kernel panics on this iBook G4 a few days ago.
I was able to trace it back with the logs to the airport.
Currently I have the airport disabled and the kernel panics have not returned.
Has anyone found a fix for this problem? Using a wired Ethernet connection defeats the purpose of having this laptop.

Bumpity bump.

kernel panic usualy requires a fresh install so renstall the os and see if it still happens?
Answer #3
Already done that. It was the first thing I tried. I Forgot to mention it in my first post.
Its looking like a hardware issue the more I search and read. The airport card (that was very accessable on the G3) may need to be reseated or replaced.
Dissasembly of the iBook is a real PITA!
Not the first time I’ve done it and doubt it will be the last.
I’m wondering if anyone else has had experience with this problem before I dissasemble this SOB.
