Answer #1
I hit many brick walls trying it, But you might still be able to do it, I’m not pro with pre-loaded ~love~.
Answer #2
it depends on your computer and the drivers. i tried it with my dell xps and it didn’t like xp at all.
Answer #3
Download Win XP -> Burn to disk -> Boot from disk -> Install -> Reboot.

Answer #6
?? lol
Answer #7
You can do it but there may be certain issues with drivers.
What Laptop do you have?
My mate wanted to downgrade but couldn’t get a sound driver to work on his laptop.
Answer #8
you can do it with any thing…
If it comes to it, just take HDD out, Wipe on another computer the put back in,
What laptop is it, tho
Drivers would be the only issue…

Answer #10
also, with vista it uses SATA mode to manage the hard drive, i think. with my laptop, i had to go to the bios and change it to AHCI to make the XP cd usable.
Answer #11
The laptop is a hp compaq c765em
Answer #12
yes you can! I did it for my inspiron but get all the compatible drivers for ur laptop! and don’t hope for an “update” of drivers later on
Answer #13
the only thing im worryed about is the wireless driver & the sound driver,
Answer #14
If It’s HP you should be fine in terms of the wireless driver.

level if ignorance amazes me…
OK OP here’s what you should do
since you have OS installed you need to install some program like Everest so that you’re sure what you have in laptop
if on laptop’s web site there are no drivers for XP that doesn’t mean they do not exist
so you look in everest what component you have and google for their XP drivers, you will find them
after that it would be good to install some partitioning program so you can create if you don’t have a partition on which you can copy all your files that you want to keep
next thing you need a Windows XP SP3 instalation which you will get from wbb
MAKE SURE THAT IT CONTAINS SATA DRIVERS – that’s important
after all of that, after you have transfered files you want to keep to safe partition you
put disk in drive, in BIOS set up to boot from CD/DVD and you install windows
later on you install all drivers that you need and programs you want
the end.
Answer #16
level if ignorance amazes me...
don’t be so harsh man, the only you accomplish by saying that is making people not want to help other w-bb users. if that’s your ‘taking in ignorance’ limit, then you’d become an hero over most other non-trolling, yet idiotic statements.
Answer #17
y even as everybody know you can man
Answer #18
I’d just get used to vista if i was you. If it’s the security popups that are anoying you just turn them off.

dude chill, I wrote to OP the whole procedure, and I’m the only one who did it in this thread
the guy I quoted told OP to take apart laptop, take HDD out take it to someone else who actually havs connector for smaller sized HDD whipe it all and put it back
what was I supposed to say, nice idea?
Answer #20
arrogance gets you nowhere, and I’ve seen a few posts of yours displaying the same traits, so i just thought id bring it up. the point also wouldn’t have gotten through if i did chill. I’m not taking to consideration any interaction you had with OP, thats why i only quoted what i did. And no you shouldn’t say ‘nice idea’, (in my eyes) ‘no, your wrong. Bla bla bla.. would’ve sufficed’. Call it trying to give a life lesson to an active W-bbian, and if you’re too ignorant to take in on-board. thats your loss. Unless you like being arrogant.
Answer #21
Ok,
Well to start with, I could of put.
Send it to my shop i’ll charge you 50 to do it. Yea!
Or I could of wrote what I wrote, Or I could of put.
All laptops Now run Sata, Bar some.
So the Connection onto Another Computer wouldn’t be an issue b/c a 2.5″ and 3.5″ Sata Hard Drive Have the same Connection, And power Connection. (for the rest of this I’ll put HDD for ref just so you know…)
Check First That all the Drivers The laptop needs To run, So Wif, Bluetooth, Internet, Graphics, Keyboard and mouse And USB all work With Windows XP,
To do this go to the Makers Website And Go to Drivers Then Update, Then find the Driver It should Say Laptop 123
Then the Drivers, And Will say something like
Drivers For Wifi XP (15,9MB) Vista (20.5MB)

Meaning it Has the Drivers In both xp and Vista.
If it doesn’t They might be found on google, Or in Windows Udate, Pm me the details of the laptop, and i’ll send you back a list of Drivers And if it will Work.
Once you have found out that it all works, 100%
Either As i said Take the HDD out of the Laptop and pop it in a working Machine, Or a SATA – USB and Format it, Then.
Either put it back into the laptop, And Put in a windows XP DVD and Start to install (If you want a detail description of how to do this let me know)
Or you Could Copy across the i386 to the Hard drive, Then put it back in the Laptop And boot Normaly And it will start to install (use this if it has no CD / DVD Support)
Or Just pop the Windows Disc into the Laptop, Restart The Thing, And Select boot from DVD / CD,. Normally You can Do this By pressing F12 or F2 And it’ll give you the Menu.
Then Follow the on Screen Guide (Pm for a detailed Guide)
If the person Wanted A full On Guide. and if he wants’ a Detailed one with pictures, I’ll do one of them as well. Regards,
Stewart,
