I think my (static) ip changed
August 3rd, 2016
When I go to my network connections, it says my ip address is 192…….. but when i go to a site that says my ip it’s completely different.
Sometimes change is a good thing.
If i check my ip on my own computer its also 192-something but when i check it on a website its different. I dont think theres anything strange in that. If everybody had the same 192.168.1.1 adress imagine downloading from rapidshare. There would always be someone downloading. The ip you can see on the websites are the “outside” ones and the one on your computer is your routers way of connecting, i think
maybe you are seeing your router address 192. ? lan not wan not web ip
The website you are checking is most likely showing your external IP address. The one that you see in network connections is your internal IP.
What website are you using to see your IP?
+ 1
192.168._._ octets are for router/modem config generally or 10.10._._
and that’s your local address which u assign starting from 192 n all (dynamic address on ur local network)
your IP on the internet is different, in all when you connect to the internet and u have a modem/router @ ur home u have 2 IP;s (normally)
1. dynamic (local)
2. dynamic (internet IP)
3rd one is static IP never changes …..!
so urs is prolly dynamic one
+ cofirm with ur ISP abt what address u subscribed from him
