August 5th, 2016

I found a hard drive in my garage today and its labeled as Western Digital…
Some info on it:
120.0 GB
MDL: WD1200AB-22DYA0
DATE:01 NOV 2008
DCM: DSBHCTJAH
and in big bold font it says on the top right “WD1200”
now i want to plug this into my PC and make it work so i can save files to it.. just like hard drive C:/ ( i have D:/ but i guess its still on the C:/ hard drive just split into two)
how would i go and do that?

Answer #1
you can, connect it to your motherboard as a slave hard drive and use it that way.
or you can spend about $20 USD and buy and external IDE enclosure and use it any computer via USB.
Answer #2
Yeah has it right. There should be a small jumper that you can move on the pins to set the drive to slave configuration and once you hook it up the computer will see it as a secondary drive. Using it as a portable external drive would be really easy too though.
Answer #3
is it an IDE (PATA) or SATA drive ?
