I need help trying to get a PS3 controller working on my pc

I have looked on google and found two options. One has me using a program but everytime I try to load it the program just takes forever and crashes. The other was a EXE file and nothing happens. I would really like to use my controller on my pc for games but I do not want to use the mouse and keyboard.
By the way. I have windows vista with a 32 bit operating system. If someone can help me that would be nice…

Use this Driver/App called MotioInJoy. I use it and it works perfectly:

Yeah i used motionjoy but its soo much easier with a xbox 360 controller as it works straight away sometimes the playstation 3 one can be a bit dodgy with drivers and it caused me to BSOD a few times lol

Some people like me already have 2 PS3 controllers and are not willing to spend an extra sum of money just for another controller, especially when the PS3 one works using a small software.

Motionjoy/DS3 tool is what you need. works a treat as you can use it as an xbox controller
