I.m At A Lost !
August 5th, 2016
I wanted to do a Dual boot with Windows 8.1 Pro installed / Windows 10 Pro next to each other.
Got myself a Samsung 850 EVO 120 GB SSD to accomplish it,disconnecting the 1 TB with Windows 10 Pro installed, connected it to my Spanking new SSD to install Windows 8.1 Pro [ I do have a Genuine License]
The installation went well,I use a Pre-activared Copy of Windows 8.1 Pro , that I downloaded from the Net.
The Problem i am facing now, is – “no Internet Access” – I have never run into this problem before, usually, after installing Windows , it will ask for the Security Password to access the my Home networks.
Nothing was asked and I am ay a lost, I reinstalled windows 8.1 Pro again, without the Pre-Activated option, with the same RESULT
Are you using a genuine installation copy? A lot of times they lack the correct drivers. Try installing the drivers of your network card.
If you have update Windows 7 through Windows 8.1 without uninstalling the anti virus, a lot of times Internet will be unreachable until you uninstall the anti virus.
Got a copy from Torrents , maybe that is why? –
When I bought my other Dell 3 years a go,Windows offer a very cheap price during X’mas time for a Windows 8.0 Pro for 25.00 Retail. that means I can use the Product key on any machine.Since Windows 8.1 Pro has to be installed with a Generic key and later I can change the Product key and get it activated.
Custom made image can lack drivers. If you need help figuring the correct drive you can open either the device manager or msinfo32 and check the attached network device.

If is a Brand New Spanking comp, no problems with the Drivers,it came with Windows 7 Pro installed, and it picked up the Wifi, and I upgraded to windows 10 Pro, no problem there too,it immediately as for Security Password to my Home Networks
I am downloading a copy from MS now, and Reinstall again and see what happens????????
There is no need to reinstall again. You simply need to install the drivers again and it should work.
Yup. should have listened to your suggestion in the first pkace, use my old Dell and went to the Dell site and Downloaded most of the Drivers- especially the Network drivers and installed them, runs great and FULL Internet access with WiFi and LAN- Ethernet too. Thanks
