uninstall programs that you don’t use

Remove unnecessary apps, backup unnecessary data files (especially big ones like moves), run CCleaner.
Answer #3
burn data to dvd .
Answer #4
how big is hd?
Answer #5
Moved from Off-Topic to Helpdesk.
Answer #6
That’s still a lot but this might save more:-
Reduce your recycle bin size as it will be set at 10% – Say 2%
Reduce your system restore size as it will be set at 10% – Say 2-3%
Reduce the Internet Explorer Cache size – 100mb
Programs do not take up much space, games and movies take up far more so uninstalling stuff doesn’t actually save much space.
Answer #7
I allways burn movies to cds, they take a lot of space, and games too..
The programs, the clean-ups, only help your system free up, and work faster, not your hdd space Smile they don’t effect it that much..
except you got something like VISUAL STUDIO, ADOBE programs Smile

Yeah only really big apps take up a lot of space, (could add NERO to those mentioned), and Games (which technically are apps), can be very big too, but it doesn’t hurt to remove clutter from the registry while in the general process of ‘housekeeping’.

Delete all but your most recent system restore point? You can do that with Disk Cleanup, by clicking on the “more options” tab.
Use Defraggler to analyze your drive and see which files are taking up loads of space, and then decide what you can do without. I often find stuff i forgot i had that way.
Turn Windows features off via Control Panel > Programs. Be sure not to turn off anything you need though.
Would’ve helped more if you told us what OS you were running, but oh well.
