How much temperature can my CPU take?

August 13th, 2013

Hi, i have an old computer with an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ processor (S754)(2000Mhz).
I have overclocked it, now it runs on 2300Mhz. Now when i only browse the internet, the temperature is 35 celsius. Is this safe? I don’t know the temperature when i’m playing.
At how much heat can a CPU be killed?
Thanx for the answer.
Greetings: Collinsvok

35° C is perfectly fine.
I’d start paying more attention when the temperature reaches 80° C or more.

I prefer to use Coretemp, some guys like HWmonitor.
Boiling water?, touch to confirm.
Answer #7
I think the 220 or 230 FSB is optimal for this cpu, at 250 FSB, the 3d test was not completed because of system reboot.
Thanks again for help
Answer #8
35-40° C is fine. dnt worry about that.
on my system its set that once the Cpu hits 80 Degree’s Celcius it shuts down by itself
Answer #9
If your concerned, invest in better CPU cooling?
