How do I remove subtitles from an .avi movie?

Usually There is a seperate file for sub titles…. I just d/led a movie but it is a stand alone .avi file and when you play it the subtitles are showing up. How do I remove them? the audio and the sub titles are in English

It’s possible but only just and it’s hardly worth the effort. MSU have a filter to do it for VirtualDub if you really want to. You can try something like this:

It really doesn’t work very well, and the easiest way is to crop ’em out, but not really worth it, still.
