How can i jailbreak my ipod touch 2G?

I seen many posts regarding it, Even downloaded the software still no good.
My ipod is just 2 days old and has firmware 2.2.1 loaded on it. Do i still need to download the firmware to make the jailbreak work?

thanks but even this asks for the firmware file. Do i need to download that? As i already have that firmware on my ipod touch pre-installed

yes, you need a clean firmware image that the jailbreak process can modify and install on your ipod
