Hosting a website on my own computer..
January 21st, 2020
Well first of all you would need a web server. If you are on windows, i recommend you download a program by the name of Xampp.
Heres the url: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
Another windows apache server program:
http://www.wampserver.com
Make sure the server is running by typing in: http://localhost
Now that you have that set up, you will need a static ip address. You have two choices here, 1 is to buy a static ip from your ISP (if they sell it), or 2 is to use services like:
1) http://www.no-ip.com/
or http://freedns.afraid.org/.
When you have signed up for a service, install whatever program they recommend as it will keep track of your ip changes and bind it to their servers.
You should be just about done at this point! Run the program, and make sure Xampp is running as it is your web server. Now enter the domain you signed up for when you registered and you should receive your homepage.
*Many isp’s do not allow web hosting from home, and will terminate your internet service if you are caught, so make sure that it is allowed before you do any of this*
If you have any questions feel free to pm me and ill try my best to assist you
Good luck!
Thanks alot, I use Pipex.

Cheers mate =] Will do
my provider doesn’t is there a way around this
Remember you upload speed provided by ISP is usually slow about 10% of download so your server will be very slow Is it worth it
Well yeah as it’s only on my computer, and I run a 16MB connection. I need to have a home hosting, so I can tryout my development as I go ahead.
16MB? You sure, if so nice
