HL2 Mods without Steam?

i got myself the complete orange box release from detonation, it’s without steam and works like a charm. now i wanted to pimp HL2 a little with the cinematic mod, but the read.me from that mod says you have to copy it to the sourcemod-folder of steam, or it won’t work. as i said above, the detonation-release got no steam and i’m not really interested to use steam anyhow. so here’s my question: is it possible to use that mod (and any other mods) without steam? any help appreciated

Thats the easy way out (I bought it too, but we should try to help those who can’t/won’t )
Hmm I don’t know if its possible to install mods to non steam orange box though, i’d have to have a look at the installation, can you give us a link to wherever you got it from?
