help with rapidshare

August 9th, 2016

Hi everyone…can anyone help with this problem.
About a week ago i think my rapid share premium account was hacked! tonight i kicked off a few downloads but when i returned to check on progress they had all stopped….But as it was late i decided to open my account to secure it.
However i cannot get back to the rapidshare page at all.Every other website can be accessed accept rapidshare???….it keeps saying ‘The document contains no data.’ The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again.” ! Am i being paranoid or have i been shut out of my own account???
Every other webpage loads no probs?
Any advice would be gratefully appreciated..

Is it just me or is Rapidshare down?
Rapidshare is very rarely offline the problem is most likely to be your connection.
Test here
http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/~ Dead file host ~
Try this
https://ssl.~ Dead file host ~
If you continue to have problems inform your ISP.
***UK Users With this Problem***
From Rapidshare Support
The reason for this is a bandwith problem between some internet providers and
our provider (Level 3). Actually ~ Dead file host ~ can't be the only website
that's affected, but maybe it's the best-known one so most customers of those
providers notice the problem when trying to access ~ Dead file host ~.
We assume this is the reason why you have problems accessing our website.
Since in that case we can't do anything on our side to solve the problem,
please write to your internet provider, describing the problems that you have
when accessing ~ Dead file host ~. Our IP address is 80.231.41.165 (this
information might be useful for your provider).
We'd like to point out that we're not blocking any users from our website, nor
is your internet provider blocking RapidShare. It's just a lack of resources
on the way between your provider and our website.

hi … thanks for the reply!
i have just recieved a reply from rapid share who said that there were various requests from different ip addresses! Which i think its fair to say means my account as been hacked. i have been on the case for 2 hours and i think i have narrowed it down to a rootkit in download manager.
I’m not happy.–I really enjoy the community here and panicked when i recieved an e-mail from rapid share suggesting i could have been sharing my account!!!
i can’t believe it. Why hack someones account for a paultry few pounds a month? its taking the **** Anyway i think people should be ultra cautious with idm..as it changes iprotocol settings and if people are not to conversant with these protocols then thats when things like this happen. Anyway i hope i’m right. or and forget antivirus software..it wont catch it. The thing that puzzles me the most is if in the log section of the rapid share premium account there are multiple ip addresses why dont rapid share only allow access to data from the ip address where the original account purchase was made? Which is mine? it seems a straight forward remedy?

Are you sure that email is legit…Normally rapidshare will take up to a week…But they get you your account back..
And yea…That’s why I use flashget instead…No login info needed..All what needed is to be loged in to your account and direct download enabled in your account…

I just started having the same problem today. my premium account is secure. when I start a download from rapidshare it will only download for about 30 second, then it just stops. and when I try to visit ~ Dead file host ~ in firefox I get:
Data Transfer Interrupted
The connection to ssl.~ Dead file host ~ was interrupted while the page was loading.

if I try to load rapidshare in IE it just never loads. I don’t have problems loading any other websites, just rapidshare. So apparently downloading from rapidshare causes the site to go down for me, and any computers on my network. It takes maybe an hour(i’m not exactly sure) for ~ Dead file host ~ to start working for me again, and if I try to download again, the same thing happens all over again…
perhaps its something with my ISP? I’m using comcast, whats your isp ?
what the hell is going on. it’s been doing this all day.
Answer #5
hi gabe33 …are you using internet download manager? i have spent 2 hours searching for bad guys and found hidden drivers in sys32 thanks to idm…plus the odd rootkit .its not your isp. rapidshare will suspend access if they are flooded by to many requests.eg various ip addresses. Check your logs in your premium account to confirm multiple ip’s. If you have your accounts been hacked.(hope not) theres a lot going on lately.
The worrying thing is when you unlock your account and download something..eg via idm(my experience) it stops and the hacker will lock you out of your own account. This happened to me earlier.
Its 1:55 am and i’m still cleaning up!
Answer #6
I’m using jdownloader. I still can’t get to the rapidshare site but when it lets me back in I’ll check logs.
Answer #7
…mmm thats interesting ? A week to get back ? hell they only took an hour..I’ve checked the url in source and it looks legit?

Answer #9

Answer #10
Just checked my logs, everything is fine there.
Answer #11
Download FlashGet from the official site here:
http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm
It’s free, so no worries about that.
Have you used an anti-virus since? (If that was the problem)
Answer #12
try firefox…could be a glitch with ie …dont like it myself but you never know gabe
i’m investigating the legit e-mail route at the mo that suggested.Calling rapidshare to confirm its ok….

hi vaqx&(wheres the hash key on my keyboard!!!) 305;ne yeah i use avg 8.5 with all the bells and whistles. Keeps finding a specific hidden file in sys32 which turns out to be a rootkit .but after suggesting a reboot to get rid of it keeps coming back..
Thinking about burning my computer tomorrow and burying it in the garden.
Answer #14
, sorry to hear about the rootkit.
I just tried flashget, it downloads all the parts but they are just 14kb each. whats going on with that? if I try opening one it says the archive is either in unknown format or damaged.
Answer #15
If you have to use flashget..See if you can find an old one…The new version is full of trouble…
I’m using 1.82…Only portable..Using same one for more than a year even after reinstalling windows…
Answer #16
thats ok…think i got it now. mmm14 kb mine downloaded ok and installed no probs.Did you get the latest one?
Answer #17

Just tried 1.82. it did the same thing as the other version though. can you post a screenshot of your “add new download” screen in flashget? I’m thinking maybe I have some settings I need to change?
Answer #19
You will have to be logged into a premium account or let flashget log into your premium account otherwise the files you download will be broken 14kb ones.
What file is AVG calling a rootkit?
I suggest you disable AVG for a day and take a NOD32 or Kaspersky 30-day trial, they’ll clean everything up.
Answer #20
2 thins you have to set before flasget will work:
1- Login to your account with IE (Not firefox)
2- once loged in go on the settings and tick the option that says Direct download…Save…
Answer #21
suggested going for the old one…mines loading ok though..mm Not sure.
Think i got the rootkit now..
Answer #22
vaqx thats interesting i will try that thanks!
Thanks .You guys are really helpful. Going to bed now up in a few hours!!
sorry about the double post…………
Answer #23
I put my account info into flashget and it seems to be working now, thanks. Is there a way to make it download more then 3 at a time?
, i’d also suggest NOD32, I use their smart security 4.0, i’ve been using their products for years. I’d also recommend a spybot scan.

jdownloader is that I’ve been using to download off rapidshare, and that always did 20 at a time. perhaps rapidshare put something on today that cuts you off if you download to many at once.
Answer #26
jdownloader is only good for free users…for premium flashget or IDM…
Answer #27
well flashget just stopped downloading and now I can’t connect to ~ Dead file host ~ so my problem is back.
Answer #28
I cant download anything from rapidshare as well… same problem
Maybe they are down? I hope someone can try and give us an update.
Answer #29
wow that was weird, i couldnt download anything, now i can download the same files and is working…
Answer #30
its working now, it looks like when I installed vista SP2 it caused problems with my eset smart security. basically sp2 caused eset to get currupted, even after I removed SP2 and reinstalled eset, it still was messed up, so I did a system restore to when I had eset uninstalled and SP2 installed and it’s working now.
