Help with a wordpress theme, can’t see thumbnails on posts.
December 25th, 2013
When I type and post Videos and pictures, I can’t see
1. the thumbnails which makes the site look awesome since you have a big X image to the left of the post and
2. the user is not able to preview the picture or video in the post before clicking it making it look like a blank topic.
How do I fix this problem?
Not sure I quite follow, can you give a link?

wasn’t sure to post a link because I thought it was against the rules oh well.

Nah your good.
But your not getting thumbnails because of an issue with your web host.
It gives this error:
remote host "static.arstechnica.com" not allowed

I don’t use all my pictures from there. I use the pictures mostly from other websites, and some from myself, but they still don’t show up. I’m not sure how to make this work even if I upload from my own ftp server.

Even the ones you post locally are getting an error.
local file for http://glothelegend.files.wordpress.com/2009/10/1085082.jpg?w=299 can not be created
Looks like an error with the template possibly. Did you purchase the template or download it as a ware?
But I still think its an issue with the host, what kind of web host do you have?

I downloaded it from here, but I dont’ think it’s the template. It might be me, I use amazon aws. WordPress is included on the instance itself so I didn’t install it manually through ftp or terminal. Do you think if I were to host the pictures through photobucket it’ll work? I’m trying to make things work free. I’m using a micro instance on amazon right now. I’m not sure if the hosting on amazon is free, so that is why i’m not using it. Just curious on what your doing to check. That information may be helpful lol.

Well, I have had troubles with premium theme’s downloaded from WBB before. Some of them have not been fully functional, but some of them have worked perfect. So it might be the template.

Maybe, you could always try it, would be an easy fix.

Free host always have their limitations and hardships. If you can’t get amazon to work for you, you might try one of these free host. They are all fully functional with no adds.
000webhost
xtreemhost
zymic
I know zymic has pretty slow FTP most of the time, and xtreemhost has gone down a couple times. 000webhost is probably the best choice, but the file size limit is pretty small. You get what you pay for tho…

Just accessing the thumbnails directly (right click > view image in new tab).
Over and out.
Got it working thanks, I had to Disable the Dynamic Image Resize. What this did is it will enable the thumb.php script. It dynamicaly resizes images on your site.
