And next time, give all the possible available information instead of just a general idea. Thanks
Answer #4
the lines during games? i get that when my card overheats. the 4850 xxx has a chronic overheating problem. i dont like having a lot of fans on my case but ive had to bring some out of retirement and its fine since.
how much power does ur psu pump out?
did you install the drivers from the disc or have you downloaded the latest from the website?
Answer #5

500w is the bare for a 6790 according to google, however u say u used the windows update drivers?
get the official ones from the amd ati website and then see if that helps.
Answer #12
Show us your entire hardware configuration (every component brand and model).
Did you install the latest drivers from AMD’s website?
Answer #13
I also think it’s a problem with your drivers.
make sure it’s the right one, just as swords to plowshares said
and post some screenies for us
use CPU-Z to get the specs of your computer and post the screenies here in this thread

Answer #14
Just had a look at your power supply, I would throw it away at once and get a decent one.
Answer #15
Yes i tried AMD drivers too and is even worse with them.I have cpu e6500 2.9 ghz 3 gb ram 500 gb hdd and this ati radeon hd 6790
Edit:You guys are sure is not graphics problem?
Answer #16
could you please post your CPU-Z screenshots.
it would help out immensely.
my thoughts so far, are the driver, or some sort of software problem.
though, it could be, in any case, a hardware or an overheating problem

Yup,
I agree.
The PSU looks like crap to me.
I have had a few experience with these ones,
they right 500W, output is somewhere in the range of 390W.
Is there a company of the PSU ?
Also If your getting a new one, get coolermaster or crosair.

Actually if he is in USA, Newegg is doing a massive discount on the Seasonic X-750.
For $107 was it?, you get a 80 Plus gold PSU that has the potential to run in passive mode most of the time, heck mine does even during gaming.
That’s a bargain, in Australia here, I did get one for 170 AUD and that was only a X-650.

You won’t know unless you give it a shot.
To decrease your chances of spending blindly, you can go to a computer shop (wise) or borrow a friends power supply (hassle for your mate) to try.
Answer #24
Yes, definitely worth trying/buying a new power supply I would think..
Is there something wrong with lulzimg.com tonight ?
Running very slow for me and it times out before I download that full screenshot.
Answer #25
You can bet your dollar on the Power supply because the 6790 is a fairly power hungry video card for that performance level.
Working at peak power, most dud power supplies will give up.
Answer #26
Ok gonna buy new Power supply if u screw me i am gonna be mad at you ><

Before that,
Try getting one from a friend, swap it out and check it just to be sure.
Don’t want another extra PSU
