Help in buying an iphone 4G

hey guys im about to buy an iphone 4g from a grey market it is going to be a 2nd hand Piece so can u plz tell me what thing should i look for when buying it
i mean to say im going to look for scratches , camera and os anything apart from it plz let me know
software related ppl plz give tips too

1. There is NO iPhone 4G! Only iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S
2. You need to know if iPhone is SIM FREE (Factory unlocked) or it’s locked to some carrier and you need to use GEVEY!
3. It would be nice if that iPhone has saved SHSH Blobs (for downgrading/upgrading)
4. Check out MIC, screen, etc…
5. Battery life?!

if the phone is locked by a carrier can it be unlocked ? is there any paticular OS version it need to to me running in order to downgrade it ? and after buying it can i jailbreak it ?

Locked iPhone 4 can be used as a phone (unlocked) via GEVEY (NOTICE, GEVEY doesn’t work on iOS 5.0 atm)
Every FW (OS) version has different BB (BaseBand) and only 01.59.00 can be unlocked with ultrasn0w, every other (except iOS5) need to be used GEVEY
To downgrade/upgrade can be done with SHSH Blobs… No SHSH Blobs = No upgrade/downgrade
Every OS can be JB it depends only whether it gonna be UNTETHERED or tethered JB!
