HDTV assistance

June 4th, 2022

So I have decided to go for a 32-inch HDTV along with a PS3 and am going to go buy them together tomorrow.
I was wondering if anyone could help me with the HDTV side of this.
For the same price I can either get the;
Sony Bravia KDL32D2810 – Format 16 / 9-screen size 32-inch-screen resolution (pixels) 1366 x 768-Brightness (cd / m) 450-Contrast 8000:1 (dynamic), HD-Ready Response Time (ms) 8-Angulo Vision (M / V): 178/178-Procesador image BRAVIA
or
Panasonic TX32LE8 – 1366×768, high contrast 10,000:1, 2x HDMI inputs, Backlight control
I am not so sure which to go for..would the 2000 ratio make that much of a difference? Which would have a better picture/movement/colour for gaming with the PS3?
Thanks for your help everybody!
(The guys at work are indecisive…2 tell me Panasonic the other 2 say Sony )

Every company’s contrast is different, they set their own way to check contrast. The best way to find out which one is better is to actually look at the tv, not just by reading the specs.
Answer #2
I looked at them both at the shop…the channel wasn’t on anything HD though…just some crappy sicilian channel…but the Panasonic looked a bit sharper. Still don’t know though.
Answer #3
Anyone? No? =/ I’ve been telling the shopkeeper I’ll come back later for a couple of days now lol
Answer #4
Contrast rate is important!Be sure of that and choose ur HDTV due to it!
Answer #5
I really can’t help you with this as I haven’t had any experience with either. You could try to ask someone at the shop if they’ve had any experiences with either. If not, you could ask which one the customer seems to go for more. I that doesn’t work there’s always eeny, meeny, miny, moe.
Answer #6
lol will probably end up eeny, meeny, miny, moeing : )
guess ill just ask him to put the same pic on both so i can judge
Answer #7
Make sure the TV you go for is 1080p capable. Preferably one which can display 1920×1080 natively and not scale it.
An LED backlight would be the best bet. I certainly wouldn’t rush into something like this.
Head over here, the information would be valuable to you.

First of all you’re choosing 720p. Id go for 1080p (aka FULL HD) otherwise you won’t be using you PS3 for what it really is capable of (if you get me)
YEs contrast rate is very important to get clear pictures.
TRY if possible to get 100hz. Will make your games look alot smoother.
