try replacing the data cable
and weird noises coming from it ?
HD is about to go

That’s the first thing to try…..Both cables…

Go to CMOS configuration then Drive Configuration
Disable your SATA or all hard disks save & reboot.
Then again reboot & set back the previous settings, save & reboot
Sometimes it works on hard disk conflicts & other problem
Sofa King is right,the HDD is going out.
I have 2 HDD in my comp…one is 160GB and the other is 250GB…In 160GB HDD i have installed XP…and the other HDD i use it store movies or TV shows dwnlded frm the net…from the past few days i am having a weird problem with the 250GB hard disk….after booting up sometimes the 250GB HDD doesn’t show up at all in My computer and sometimes it just disappears when i am still working on my PC…can u help me plsss???I got the same problem too
i replace my data cable and it’s now working perfectly.
also keep in mind that perhaps your harddisk is about to be broken. better backups your data now…
Check the connections of the HD.
Check the motherboard end of the wire too.
If it does not work, change the slots.
