GTA IV won’t load on laptop

August 24th, 2013

I have just bought a laptop for Christmas for my sister
Nvidia GT 555m
Intel i5 @2.40
8GB Ram
I have installed GTA along with updating Nvidia and directX
When I try to load GTA you can here the fan and disc spinning and speeding up .. then it goes to nothing
If I look at the Task Manager and processes I see GTALauncher up until the disc/fan goes quite, then GTALauncher disappears :\. I’ve ran as admin and compatibility mode, but all still the same

Answer #1
Maybe ur AV is giving the game a hard time, disable it and try again.
Answer #2
Update the games with the latest patch and see if that helps (1.0.7.0)
Also, use Xliveless as it may be a disc problem. Multiplayer sucks anyways.
Answer #3
Right click desktop..Open Nvidia control panel..select High definition Nvidia option-default it will be Auto select.
