Pictures won’t load

August 5th, 2016

Hey everyone, So on my computer for some reason only SOME pictures dont load. For example, on my Facebook feed some pictures such as profile picture thumbnails, and advertisements/sponsored links load. But a majority of the pictures people post in comments/photo albums will not. I changed my profile picture today, and even that will not load in my timeline. These pictures are either just a blank white box, or display a broken image icon. I have also encountered this in forums when the image is embedded. To view the image I have to right click the broken link and open the image in a new tab to display it from where the picture is hosted (ie: Imgur)
I have no clue what to do to fix this. Here is what I have already tried:
I am using Google Chrome and have also tried this in IE and have gotten the same problem. To narrow down whether it is my computer or network I used another computer in the house, it worked fine. So I have determined it is my computer, and is not specific to the Chrome browser. I cleared all history/cookies/cache from my browser and tried again, nothing. Applied all windows updates and restarted computer, nothing. Scanned computer with PC Tune Up, Spybot S&D, TDSS Killer, CCleaner, and N360 and found nothing, it changed nothing as well. Turned firewall off to see if my security was blocking images from loading, nothing. Downloaded latest drivers for my video cards, nothing. My computer is an HP
Windows 7 64 bit
AMD A6-3600 APU with Radeon Graphics
AMD Radeon HD 6530D
I am also using Norton 360
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, Thanks

I went to update flash and apparently Chrome already does that as Adobe’s site said this:
“Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available.”
Firefox still had the same issue. I honestly have no idea what to do lol

It’s got something to do with placeholders I think, but what the solution is I don’t know. You could try uninstalling Norton and any other antivirus/firewall software to see if that is causing it.
Adobe flash player comes in two versions, one for IE and one for all other browsers. Firefox doesn’t use the IE version and you must download the ‘other browser’ version to use with Firefox since it doesn’t automatically update.

I appreciate the help man
I also forgot to mention that Facebook videos wont load either. It will sit there and try to buffer and never do anything. Weird thing is I can watch youtube/vimeo videos just fine. So I right clicked an image that wasnt loading, and clicked inspect element. I clicked on the error icon and it came up with a bunch of these: “Failed to load resource: net::ERR_TIMED_OUT ”
Does this change what the problem could be?

Latest Flash Players:
IE:
http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_13_active_x.exe
Firefox:
http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_13_plugin.exe
If you are having those problems on Facebook only then perhaps it has something to do with Facebook .
Basically, like you, I haven’t got a clue what it is, I’m just throwing up the things I’d try …….. Adobe Shockwave player up to date?

How I stumbled upon this I have no clue. This issue was bothering me all day and this just fixed it (for anyone who was curious/having same issue)
Here is the link where I found it, the answer is the long comment with the picture attached:

I figured it might be my network and went to check my drivers. As this guy stated, it said everything was up to date. He then said to manually update the drivers. So I googled the name of mine and then went through the instillation wizard the company provides. It updated, and now everything is working fine.
Also, I really appreciate the help you provided! Thanks again!
