GTA IV on windows 8

So after watching couple of gameplays of GTA V I have a sudden urge to play GTAV IV which I own on CD ,but when I insert the first CD it starts the setup thingy and then an error message appears saying my system is not compatible I tried running the setup application with windows vista compatibility but it did not work. Is there anything else I can do to make it work ,or maybe it is the CDs fault it is infact a little scratched on the back.

Found a way to make it work ,all you need to do is to run the setup.exe in windows vista service pack 2 compatibility ! Cheers for your help anyways
