Google chrome file download problems

SO ive downloaded like… 4 out of 5 parts for this movie and the last link downloads and it says 990 out of 990 mbs downloaded but it wont open or save to my computer it just freezes when its done downloading, ive tried restarting my computer and what not and that doesnt help it still wont actually finish the download. The problem is not my internet i know my internet is fine but i’d really like a solution to this problem without having to reinstall chrome.

I get the same problem myself recently.Now i surf and download with firefox.Even get better results on firefox when testing my connection with speedtest.net.

Maybe you can use a download manager, and it would solve the problem.

I can do that and everything but does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it and not just substitute?

i cleared cache, that didnt help i did reload my computer yesterday that didnt do anything either. i tried with both chrome and mozilla might try it with IE8 but not very hopeful for that to work either.
if anyone else has any other ideas shoot em at me cuz im lost.
