File transfer

August 3rd, 2016

Hi friend I was searching for a long time and trying out the software I have downloaded, but it did not meet my expectation. I need a software which can handle say 4 GB. video file and to transfer to another computer, the speed must be at least decent. I tried team viewer the speed is very slow, it reach it’s target almost 2 days (4 GB.). Sometimes there maybe two times I have to transfer. I need a software which suit my purpose or appreciate your opinion what the best way to do. Thanking you.

I havnt used the software in a while… But id do it by creating a private FTP (passworded) and then you can make available files to download from another computer.. Easier said then done, but not rocket science, google should help with ideas, and you can probably find FTP software on this site, although there is free alternatives as well…. Remember that it will only happen as well at the speed of max upload/download speed of the connections used..
Or you could use your rar program to split the files into 1gb files and upload them to hosts such as hugefiles and give the link to your friend.. What ever seems easier to you..
Answer #2
I never done this but try to make torrent file of that 4GB file and send torrent file to another Pc.
Answer #3
Alternative ways include the bittorent protocol or via p2p (there’s also vnc with ssh but it’s somewhat complicated). If you go the filehost way, good options are sites like dropbox or dropjar etc.

IF so go to \\ipaddressofthepc\c$ and enter the username and password of the computer you are connecting to (Not the username and password of the pc you are currently on)

It will take less than half hour to upload a 4 Gb file.
I suggest you split the file into 4 or more parts using winrar.

Then upload it to google drive.
Then share the link with your friend.

I try with torrent yesterday and it works. In Utorrent I go to File – new torrent and choose folder and create torrent, didn’t mess with other settings, send it to my friend and set seeding (upload) to unlimited. He download about 1GB for an hour (my upload is 3Mbps).
Answer #11
I would upload to a file host or cloud service. It should take about an hour or less at your upload speed. You could use FTP or torrents but that’s just more work and things to set up on your end. Regardless of which method you use it would probably be a good idea to rar or zip it with a password.
