Failed encryption attempt formatted USB now it’s not working

January 26th, 2020

Hey,
I have a 64GB Corsair Flash Voyager which I attempted to encrypt using Microsoft’s Bitlocker To Go software but ran into some difficulties as the process paused after 5% and would not resume so I was forced to cancel / shut down bitlocker and attempted to remove encryption but experienced same issue with pause etc. so I simply formatted the USB which a prompt came up stating it would remove the encrypted contents as well as Bitlocker protection but now I’m unable to format and use the USB?
I’ve tried in a different system and also reinstalling the device yet shows up as unknown file system with 0 bytes did I screw it up or was USB broke it’s only 7 months old the data isn’t important as I have it backed up but wish to continue using the storage drive thanks

Answer #1
Was it working before ?
What does it show as in Disk Management (Or diskpart in CMD)?
If you try to format it now , what does it say?
Answer #2
You might want to give the low level format tool a whirl, as shown here..

It doesn’t detect the drive

I was able to select the disk but it states
“Virtual Disk Service error:
There is no media in the device.”
