editing an fla file.. how!
August 7th, 2016
As far as i know, you cant simply convert a .swf file into a .fla file. A swf file a flash movie file; in other words all the information from the original fla file is compressed into the movie file.
It would be like having a .psd (photoshop file) with many layers of graphics, saving it at as a jpeg and then trying to convert the jpeg back to a psd…it just doesnt happen as the jpeg format does not recognise the layers that existed in psd…..a jpeg is ‘flat’ image so to speak with all layers compressed into one.
If this work is for a client or something, try asking the orginal owner for the orginal .fla file if he/she has it. If not, you cant edit the text on the swf…only recreate it from scatch, sorry.

i have software that does break the swf file down into a fla file. ‘sothink swf decompiler’. it works most times, but im haveing trouble useing adobe flash. trying to work it out… not easy.
thanks
Well if you can open the file, you should be able to edit the text quite easy. If the flash movie has the text moving around, the text is going to be a ‘movieclip’ object so you will need to double-click the text to open the object. Once you have done that, you can then select the ‘text tool’ from the left hand plane, and then select the text. You should be able to edit the text now.
hm i couldt do it that way. but i got the job half done, thanks..
