EBay Bidding Question?

October 21st, 2013

I was wondering as I have no money in my PayPal if I win a bid on eBay, how can I pay, im guessing I can ‘Pay with PayPal’ and PayPal will take the money straight from my bank and pay it to the recipient? Am i right?
OR do I click Instant Bank Transfer and send the money to the persons email address, they will receive it, just like a normal PayPal transfer?
BTW my bank card has expired

Answer #1
When you bid and IF you win, check out with paypal and yes, paypal will take the amount needed from you bank account
Edit: lol your card has expired, you can’t pay for anything until you get a new one
Answer #2
Which ever method is set to primary funding, will be used first to try and pay. Normally when you have a bank account linked to your PayPal account, they put that as primary unless you manually change it to something else such as a debit or credit card. Just go into your PayPal profile and configure your settings/preferences.

If PayPal taking the money out of your bank account first, where does the card even come into play? Think about it…

No you’ve no need to worry.
Even if you haven’t got the money in your bank, you have approx 2 working days to get the money into your bank before Paypal request the direct debit
When you get a new card, just update it in your Paypal (it’s only a secondary source of funding in your case, incase the bank reject the direct debit for insufficient funds etc)

when you go to pay using paypal, when you see the payment details, you can always change it there before you confirm payment if its not what you want to use
